![]() Use of Mirya's baby to cow 50-foot giant Zentraedi is a comic sight, but it's also one of the rarest instances in an anime series of a main character having a child. Viva Mirya: In order to rebuild the Earth's industrial base, the Robotech Defense Force hijacks a Robotech Factory, a space-based manufacturing plant.Definitely cobbled together, but necessary to the storyline. Robotech Masters: One of the Macek-created filler episodes to tie the Macross series to the Southern Cross.Lots of romantic entanglements, and the continuation of the Rick-Lisa-Minmei triangle. See what Rick Hunter, Lisa Hayes, and Lynn Minmei are doing in this future. Plus, the Zentraedi aren't integrating into society very well. Reconstruction Blues: Post-victory Earth. Also home to one of the biggest guns in history the Grand Cannon. Home of the classic "song during final battle" device (used countlessly during the 80s and even now), plus some of the most memorable scenes in anime history. Four million ships come after Earth and the SDF-1. ![]() Force of Arms: The climactic final battle. Also contains an unforgettable scene of Exedore doing his Minmei impression. The Messenger: Exedore gets Micronized and forms an alliance with the SDF-1.A little chintzy, but it's sweet, and one of the few instances in anime where important characters fall in love and get married in the course of the series. Wedding Bells: Max and Mirya finally fight face to face in a cool knife fight, fall in love, and get married.Nearly every episode on the two core discs is a winner. This particular arc chronicles Max and Mirya's wedding, the Zentraedi-Human alliance, the climactic final battle between Dolza and the Earth forces, and the aftermath. In my opinion, these are the best episodes of the first generation (Macross), which in turn is the best part of the entire series. This is the third box set, which contains episodes 25-36.
